We awarded $8,000 in scholarships at the May 1, 2014 Graduate/Young Scholar Recognition Ceremony, of which $4,000 was donated by Comcast.  Thank you Comcast and all of our sponsors/donors (see right hand side of this page).

Graduate & Young Scholar Recognition Ceremony

The purpose of the Hispanic Business Professional Association is to promote and serve Hispanic cultural, business, professional and educational interests in the greater Spokane community.

The purpose of this ceremony is:

  1. To celebrate educational success among Hispanic/Latino students upon their graduation.
  2. To recognize the scholastic achievement of Hispanic/Latino youth in the 7th through 11th grades.
  3. To increase Hispanic/Latino enrollment and participation in higher education.
  4. To encourage students to establish life-long educational goals.
  5. To promote the partnership between HBPA and educational institutions in supporting Hispanic/Latino students.

The Graduation and Young Scholar Recognition Ceremony is held on the first Thursday of May.  For 2015, the ceremony wlll be held on May 7, 2015 at Spokane Community College at 5:00 pm.  Registration for the Ceremony is usually open by March 1.

All college, university, and high school/ged graduates (regardless of gpa) are recognized  and Young Scholars, grades 7-11 with a 3.0 gpa.
